2011 WSCO Picnic

Jeff & Patti Jones, WSCO Board Members

The annual WSCO picnic was held on July 16th at the Shadblow shelter house at Blendon Woods Metro Park.  It was a beautiful day to spend with around 2 dozen of our friends and family.

Scattered amongst the expected "picnic food" was a variety of traditional Welsh recipes and it all tasted wonderful.  There really are some good cooks amongst us.

It was fun to catch up with people we haven't seen for a while and to build new friendships.

New this year, we had a rummage sale (instead of an auction) that included Music, Books, and "Duffydills".  Fifty-five dollars was raised for the WSCO General Fund, and nobody was elbowed out of the way to be outbid.

We were led in singing by Leslie Twigg.  The acoustics of the shelter house, and the quality of the singing, drew an audience.  A man came up out of the wood and listened to us for a little while.

All in all it was a good time, and many thanks go to Charlotte Prior for organizing another wonderful picnic.

***We are ‘booked’ at the same location for a 2012 noon picnic on July 21st.***

Schedule those other events on other dates and spend July 21, 2012 with your WSCO “family”!
