Sioned Angharad Wyn, from Whitchurch, a small suburban village to the north of Cardiff, is a translator with Cardiff County Council and is on sabbatical to work with the Madog Center for Welsh Studies at the University of Rio Grande in Rio Grande, Ohio. Her first language is Welsh and she received all of her education, from first grade through her bachelor’s degree from Aberystwyth University, in Welsh. She has also earned a Master’s in Management and Marketing from the Business School there.
She loves to sing and is a member of Côr Caerdydd (Cardiff Choir) which has won many competitions including Choir of Choirs at Gwyl Fawr Aberteifi (Cardigan’s Festival) and has recently traveled extensively across Europe with trips to France, Spain, Italy, Romania and Hungary. Apart from singing, which is a big part of her life, Sioned loves to cook and read and, of course, being Welsh, socialize with friends! She has also worked for the National Eisteddford of Wales in a Welsh language initiative in Cardiff, as an office manager for a food consultancy, and been a cook in a pub in Aberystwyth.
Sioned’s parents are from south west Wales and she has two younger siblings -- her sister plans to join her for a month of traveling around the US at the end of Sioned’s internship at the Madog Center.
John Davids was born to parents of Welsh descent (Davids, Hughes, Evans) and raised in the Welsh community of Radnor, Ohio.

S. in Electrical Engineering from Purdue University, followed by a career in Electronics Manufacturing management.
Since retiring, he has been pianist for the G-Clef Gillie Seniors choir in Columbus for 6 years and a member of WSCO and pianist for the Columbus Welsh Singing Society (CWSS) since its inception.

When you’re cleaning out cupboards and old files, please remember that WSCO is Hunting the History – searching for information about the early years of the Columbus Welsh Society, Welsh Singing Society, and Women’s Welsh Club of Columbus, especially the names of all our founding members.
We would like to know if anyone has programs for:
gymanfa -- 1st gymanfa, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 38th, 39th through 41st, 44th, 46th, 49th through 51st, 54th, 56th, and 58 th. (We have the Columbus Nationals).
St. David’s Day – any before 1961, 1963-1965, 1969-1989, 1991-1993, 1996, 1997, 1999, and 2001-2007.
Some of our items are not in the best shape (wrinkled, smudged) so if you have a program that is not listed, please offer it to WSCO before throwing it away.
If you’d prefer to not donate items permanently to the “historical file,” would you please consider loaning them to be photocopied?
