President’s Message

Ken Evans

The Welsh have been or will be gathering at various venues in the USA, in Wales, and other countries for a GYMANFA GANU to keep that part of our Welsh culture alive. Support at least one of them. Note that our Central Ohio GYMANFA GANU is Sunday Oct 18. We were encouraged that so many turned out last year.

Now, about your present WSCO board members:

We owe a lot to long-time present board members [that is, before my time] who have kept and keep WSCO going for all the many years and remain invaluable to the organization: Mary Ellen, Myron, Dianne, Bob, Charlotte, Homer.

But I would like to highlight a few more-recent members that are contributing much ongoing work to WSCO and Welsh culture:

Donna Boyce - Donna took over leadership of the Welsh Country Dancers in 1998 and keeps it going. When the office of Corresponding Sec'y became open, she said she would do it. When the job of editor of our newsletter, Dragon Tales, was open, Donna said she would do it. She also organizes our Te Bach for our Gymanfa Ganu.

Tegwyn Lantz - Teg volunteered to be our treasurer when that office was open. As if that wasn't enough, she also volunteered to be webmaster when that needed someone.

Beth Ransopher - Beth is one of our newer board members and took a look at what we needed and then has provided leadership in updating what we have and looking forward to our future. Some of her outstanding input has been featured in the last two [2] issues of Dragon Tales in full page articles, PART I and PART 2, "WSCO's FUTURE and YOU".

Evan Jones - Evan volunteered to be the membership chair and does this mountain of work with his wife, Pam.

Pam is representative of the many non-board members who work on special projects wherever needed.

I know......I haven't mentioned everything they do and I haven't mentioned everybody. Every board member contributes to the success of the organization in some way.

Some of you will want to show your appreciation in your own way for all the work they all do on your behalf.
